Natural Dyed textiles are available on both Protein fibers (Animal fibers such as wool and silk) and Cellulose fibers (such as cotton, linen, nettle, hemp.

Techniques

Various styles of dyeing are possible, such as direct mordant, painting with thickened dye extracts, Mordant dye pasting, Ferrous (iron), Mordant and Ferrous combinations, discharge paste, immersion dyeing, and Shibori.

Colors

Natural dye colors are created and shifted using various techniques. Some colors are more consistent, but every batch is different- part of the beauty of the process. In additional, the fabric used will play into the final achieved color. Working with natural dyes is a journey of discovery.
