CARE AND USE
All textiles have been given an appropriate time to color set and maximize color fastness (approx. 2 weeks after dyeing). They are pre-washed with PH Neutral soap before they are shipped.
It is preferable to gently hand wash your fabrics using a PH neutral soap in lukewarm water. You could machine wash your fabrics on gentle cycle with PH neutral soap, but it is still best to hand wash for the first few washes. Never bleach or dry clean. Natural dyes can bleed during the first couple of washes, so it is recommended to wash your textiles separately.
If possible, neutral (pH7) water should be used for rinsing and washing your naturally dyed fabrics. If washing by hand, distilled water is best. If washing with machine with hard water, adding a small amount of Calgon Liquid Water Softener to the PH neutral detergent will be helpful.
Do not machine dry your fabrics, the heat is too extreme for the dyes. Either hang dry or roll them into towels to dry.
Iron on settings appropriate for the fabric type on the reverse side.
Natural dyes are very delicate to citrus acids. In fact, we use citrus acids in discharge paste to remove color from compositions. Please take care with lemon, lime, orange, etc when using your fabric and clean exposed surfaces as soon as possible.
Although the textiles are colorfast, different dyes respond to environmental conditions. Strong continuous direct sunlight will accelerate color fading. It is best to store your fabrics outside of direct sunlight.
Natural dyes do age, over time the colors will patina and shift slightly. Proper care and love will ensure they last a long time.
